Kevin is a founder and managing director of KMH Systems.Prior to establishing KMH Systems, Kevin spent eight years with SFL Engineering where he was responsible for the implementation and coordination of large contracts, from manufacture through to installation, for a range of clients such as Balcas Sawmill, Castle Cement and Shanks. He spent eight years as production manager for H.D.S. Energy Ltd, overseeing the manufacture of large industrial steam boilers & pressure vessels.

Clients included the ESB Shannonbridge Power Station, ESBI CHP Plant at Whitegate, and Fruit of the Loom in Donegal. Prior to this, Kevin worked in the US as a FAA approved Jet Engine Line Inspector with Pratt & Whitney in Connecticut at its parts refurbishment centre for commercial and military clients. Other areas of experience in Kevin’s significant career to date include Quality Control Management, Welding Inspection and Metal Fabrication roles with indigenous Irish companies Joseph Murphy Structural Steel Ltd and Mahon & McPhillips. In addition to his consultancy work, Kevin is a former part-time lecturer in Advanced Welding at Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT).

Norman is a founder and sales director of KMH Systems Ltd with responsibility for sales of complete turnkey projects and individual equipment to new and existing clients. His area of expertise is in developing new products and systems to meet the client’s requirements.Before founding KMH Systems with Kevin Maher and Stephen Murphy, Norman worked as an architectural technician with Associated Architectural Consultant in Omagh, Co Tyrone, Northern Ireland and then joined SFL Engineering for 26 years, initially as a project specialist for the wood, glass and recycling industries.

His areas of expertise straddled: plant design, layout and functionality; financial analysis; technical solutions, from first discussions through to plant handover. He later moved into costing and technical sales for the company and was appointed project director with responsibility for the engineering division and multi-million euro projects.

Norman is an Associate Member of The Chartered Institution of Wastes Management. Norman is also a member of The Wood Recyclers’ Association.

Stephen Murphy

Stephen is Engineering Director at KMH Systems and has more than 19 years’ engineering experience. After graduating from UCD, Stephen started work with SFL Engineering as a junior engineer and quickly progressed to head of the engineering department.In 2008 he became one of the founders of KMH. In addition to his engineering qualifications, Stephen has undertaken extensive training in machinery design, H&S machine compliance and 3D CAD design. At KHM, Stephen leads the engineering team in providing complete solutions to KMH clients and is the client liaison during the lifespan of each project – from initial pre-order meetings right through to commissioning and after-sales care.
